The suspended MPs include the Majority Chief whip Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor and the minority chief whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Alhassan Sulemana Tampuli and Jerry Ahmed Shaib.

The four suspensions come following the heated clash that occurred on Thursday, January 30, 2025, when Okudzeto and Akandoh were awaiting their turn to be vetted.

Speaker Bagbin has directed the Parliamentary Marshal to prevent the four suspended MPs from entering the chamber.

He further made it clear such actions would not be accepted and cautioned of further action should similar occurrences arise in the future.

Vincent Assafuah in his reaction on Facebook wrote, “Parliament is becoming a secondary school where headmaster can summarily dismiss a student a student without due process”.

Meanwhile, the minority caucus in Parliament has rejected the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin’s decision to suspend three members of their MPs.

In a statement released on Saturday, February 1, the Minority Caucus rejected the speaker’s decision and demanded the immediate reversal of the suspension of their MPs.
