Her body has since been transported the body to the University Health Services for further examination.

On Thursday, February 27 the Schools issued a statement pledged to get to the root of the matter.

According to the statement, a comprehensive investigation is underway in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), KNUST Internal Security, and the University Health Services.

The circumstances surrounding the unfortunate death Joana Deladem Yabani is yet to be known.

KNUST has since informed the family of the deceased.

Students of KNUST have also been cautioned to remain calm and stop spreading unverified information.

Meanwhile, Albert Nat Hyde commonly known as Bongo Ideas has stated the number of deaths recorded yearly at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) looks like a yearly sacrifice.

According to Bongo Ideas, the KNUST needs spiritual cleansing and fortification.

Bongo Ideas took to his social media page on X and detailed the number of student deaths in the past years from 2021 to 2024.

He claimed that in 2021 23 students died, 2022 26 students died, 2023 19 students died and this year 2024 19 students have died so far.

He added that the likely cause of death is a car accident with the victims in their final year, with the female students of KNUTS dying more.

Meanwhile, some months ago KNUST lost yet another student, following the untimely death of a student, Afia Dedaa Osae-Atuah.

The victim, a third-year Geography student, was on her way to repair her laptop when a trotro vehicle veered off its lane and struck her while standing on the shoulder of the road.
