CCTV photos of military men who stormed the residence of former finance minister Ken Ofori Atta have surfaced.
The photos that have emerged showed a well-known businessman Richard Jakpa who was recently facing trial but was acquitted by the court, together with some men in military uniform.
The image has surfaced following Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng claiming the purported raid of Ken Ofori-Atta’s residence was staged.
Yesterday, 11 February 2025 news broke that twelve individuals in military and police uniforms had invaded the residence of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
According to the reports, the incident happened yesterday Tuesday, 12 February 2025 in the afternoon.
The information gathered suggests the men stormed Ken Ofori Atta’s home in Cantonments while he was reportedly out of the country.
The reports suggest that 12 individuals, five in military uniforms, and one in a police uniform with the rest in ordinary clothes.
Addressing the press on Wednesday, February 12, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng stated, “Mr. Ofori-Atta, the OSP did not raid your house on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, or on any other day. Mr. Ofori-Atta, the OSP did not cause any person, however uniformed, to raid your house on February 11, 2025, or on any other day. That could not have been the OSP, and that is not our style. If the OSP enters your premises, you will not be in doubt as to where the OSP had come from, and your lawyers will not have cause to inquire as to whether it was the OSP,”
Meanwhile, the OSP in the same press conference declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive.
The OSP has declared him a fugitive for failing to appear for interrogation into corruption-related investigations.
Ken Ofori Atta has been accused of causing financial loss to the state in several dealings including the construction of the famous National Cathedral and Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA’s) – Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML).
