Broadcaster, Captain Smart has revealed that President John Dramani Mahama almost resigned as Vice President under the late President John Evans Attah Mills.
According to him, the constant suffering an abuse at the hands of Samuel Koku Anyidoho who was Director of Operations at the Presidency at the time is what informed Mahama’s decision.
“Mahama wrote a resignation as Vice President of Ghana. If you meet Mahama tell him I said so on TV,” he stated.
It took the intervention of former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II and other prominent men to prevent Mahama from resignation.
“Otumfuo intervened, Kufuor intervened. I am not shy of speaking the truth. At the time Mahama’s mother was alive and big men interceded after he said he was resigning. He wasn’t going to sit down for Koku Anyidoho to keep insulting him.”
He indicated that the strained relationship between the duo can never be resolved in this lifetime.
According to him, Koku Anyidoho is the root cause of their strained relationship and that relationship can never be fixed.
