Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister has revealed former member of parliament for Adansi Asokwa KT Hammond lost his parliamentary seat because of toilets.
According to Dr Frank Amoakohene, no community in KT Hammonds constituency had a public toilet.
He revealed that during the campaign period, people in the KT Hammond constituency complained bitterly about the lack of a public toilet.
Speaking in an interview with GH One TV, Dr Frank Amoakohene detailed, “So in most of the new seats where I went to campaign KT Hammond if he wants to know why he lost, it is because of toilets.
There is no community in his constituency that has a public toilet. The constituents openly talk about it. When I went there to campaign, they came for the mic and they talked about it with passion and he grossed over that. He was out of touch with the people and that is a mistake we will not do. I’ve told my MPs to be closer to the people”, he stated.
Dr Frank Amoakohene further revealed he was not expecting a ministerial role considering his age.
“Honestly, I wasn’t expecting a ministerial role. Considering my age and all, I was expecting a Deputy Ministerial role or a CEO role, or even still to remain within the party and work for the party. I didn’t think that I would get lucky,” he added.
