Former SIC Insurance MD Hollistar Duah-Yentumi has run to court after refusing to hand over after she was booted out of office by President John Mahama.
According to reports Ms Hollistar Duah-Yentumi has declined to hand over her office to President John Dramani Mahama appointed acting SIC MD Mr Agyenim-Boateng leaving with the keys which has effectively prevented Agyenim-Boateng from assuming his new role.
It has been revealed that on Thursday, January 30, Mr Agyenim-Boateng visited the SIC headquarters but the former MD refused to attend the meeting to collaborate to ensure a smooth transition.
Speaking in an interview on Citi Eyewitness News on February 5, Agyenim-Boateng revealed, “It has become apparent that the real difficulty regarding why I have not been able to access the office is because my predecessor has actually locked up the office and bolted with the keys. It is strange”.
The former MD according to reports has also failed to submit her handing-over notes, further delaying the transition process.
A staff who spoke anonymously about the situation indicated, “We are under the Ministry of Finance, and the Minister has officially communicated the appointment of Mr. James Agyenim-Boateng as our new MD. I don’t see why the former MD is refusing to hand over.
She was also appointed by the previous government, and with the change in administration, it is expected that new leadership will take over. It’s a shame, and she must immediately hand over”, the staff added.
Reports have now emerged that Hollistar Duah-Yentumi has filed an interlocutory injunction at the High Court, seeking to restrain Agyenim-Boateng from acting as the Managing Director.
Hollistar Duah-Yentumi legal team led by E.N. Poku Esq filed the motion to request an order preventing SIC Insurance from recognizing him in the role.
Meanwhile, the High Court is expected to rule on the injunction appeal in the coming weeks.
