Finali Limited, the managers of the Airport Hills residence where Minister of Foreign Affairs and North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, resides, has confirmed that he is a tenant, not the owner of the property.
The clarification follows Ablakwa’s formal request to Finali Limited to verify his residential status at Plot No. 565, No. 1 Wilshire Boulevard, Airport Hills.
Ablakwa’s request was prompted by the Appointments Committee of Parliament, which sought clarification on his occupancy and ownership of the property.
In response, Finali Limited, in a letter dated February 6, 2025, addressed to the Committee’s Chairman, Bernard Ahiafor, confirmed that the property is owned by Husni Altheebeh, not Ablakwa.
The letter also stated that Ablakwa initially entered into a tenancy agreement with Husni Altheebeh on March 1, 2017.
A renewal agreement was later signed on March 1, 2022, confirming the continuation of his tenancy. Finali Limited, as the property managers, had granted the necessary consent for both agreements.
“Our records show that a Land Title Certificate for the property was issued on December 15, 2017, and registered under Husni Altheebeh. The tenancy agreement between Altheebeh and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, along with Nuhela Seidu, was granted our consent on August 8, 2017. The tenancy remains in effect as per a renewal agreement dated March 1, 2022” parts of the letter read.
Finali Limited also highlighted that Airport Hills is primarily an owner-occupied community, with rentals permitted only on a limited basis and subject to their approval.
This clarification comes amid increasing scrutiny over Mr. Ablakwa’s residential status.
