The National Service Authority (NSA) Accountant, Yaw Danso has revealed that the Deputy Head of Accounts refused to hand over to him for eight months after he was posted to the NSA.
According to Yaw Danso, he was posted to the NSA in April 2024 as the Head of Accounts, but I only took over on December 23, 2024.
He revealed that the Deputy Head of Accounts, who was deputizing for an outgoing head, refused to hand over to me due to his close ties with the political class.
Speaking in an interview with TV3 on Monday, February 24, 2025. Yaw Danso narrated, “I was posted to the NSA in April 2024 as the Head of Accounts, but I only took over on December 23, 2024. When I arrived to assume office, the then Deputy Head of Accounts, who was deputizing for the outgoing head, refused to hand over to me due to his close ties with the political class.
“There were several issues that arose. I was asked to wait until he retired. So, in December, he retired and finally handed over to me on December 23, 2024. I believe he had strong connections with people in power at that time. During the waiting period, I remained as the Deputy Head of Accounts until his retirement”, he added.
Yaw Danso further added, “That was the challenge I faced. It was decided that I should use his former office while he occupied the Head of Accounts office. So, I stayed in his old office while he remained in the Head of Accounts’ office until he retired on December 23, and I officially took over from there.”
