Nene Drolor Bosso Adamtey I has won the Greater Accra Council of State election.
Nene Drolor Bosso Adamtey I won the election by securing 40 votes.
The election saw three candidates Obed Nyarko, Albert Borketey Naawu, and Musah Ziyadstep down before commencement.
Ten candidates contested, and despite the stiff competition Nene Drolor Bosso Adamtey I emerged victorious with a huge margin.
Announcing the results, the Greater Accra Regional EC Director, Mrs. Gladys Pinkrah stated, “By the power vested in me by the Electoral Commission, I declare Nene Drolor Bosso Adamtey I as the Greater Accra Representative of the Council of State.”
A total of 155 candidates from all 16 regions of Ghana have filed their nominations to contest with 145 males and 10 females.
The Council of State elections will decide regional representatives who will advise President John Dramani Mahama on key state issues.
It is established under Article 89 of the 1992 Constitution, the Council serves as a key consultative body, offering expert advice on governance-related issues, national security, economic development, and other critical state affairs.
They are constitutionally instructed as an advisory body that guides the President on policy formulation and national governance.
