Some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in parliament had decided to vote against the ministerial nominations of Samuel Nartey George and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
According to Frank Annoh-Dompreh (MP), the Minority Caucus had planned on subjecting their approvals to a secret ballot and received immense support from some NDC MPs.
He disclosed that had their approval being subjected to a secret ballot, the two would not have been approved as ministers.
“Initially there were a few of their people who said they were going to vote against them, their own nominees,” Annoh-Dompreh revealed.
However, the party headquarters and the Jubilee House whipped them in line and they all backtracked.
With the President still making appointments and the NDC MPs seeking favor and appointments, they chose to back of from their decision to conduct a secret ballot and vote against the nominees.
Annoh-Dompreh indicated that with the whipping in line from the presidency, the Minority also had to change tactics, hence their decision to abstain from their approval.

This is an absolute fact. Most of the NDC MP’s were ready to vote against the arrogant Sam George and the disrespectful Okudzeto Ablakwa through a secret ballot.
Even the Majority Leader confirmed on the floor that he will never let it happen that those two would be subjected to… pic.twitter.com/IbNfamazAn
