Isaac Adongo, a member of the parliament of Bolgatanga Central has informed his constituent his time will come.
The newly appointed board member of the Bank of Ghana has assured his constituent his time will come as he remains committed to serving both his constituency and the country.
His comments follow concerns from some of his constituents, who believe President John Dramani Mahama has snubbed in his ministerial appointments.
According to Isaac Adongo, Ato Forson was his ranking member on the finance committee in parliament and has also been a deputy minister of finance before.
He asserted that President John Mahama made the right decision in appointing Dr Cassiel Ato Forson as finance minister.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Thursday, February 27, Isaac Adongo revealed, “In the issue of finance minister proper, since I came to Parliament, I’ve always been behind Ato Forson. Ato was my ranking member when I arrived in the parliament I was a member and he was ranking and when I came back the second time, they promoted me to deputy ranking, and he was still ranking”.
“Then, when there was a reshuffle in parliament he assumed a leadership role, on the front bench, so I was then pushed to ranking, he has also been a deputy minister so it was really a tall ask to say that all of a sudden you are going to jump over him, what will be the reason”, he added.
Isaac Adongo further revealed, “So I explained to my people that under the circumstances based on my understanding of parliamentary practice I think that it is the right appointment. My time will come”.
Meanwhile, Isaac Adongo, the Bolgatanga Central Lawmaker has finally been appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as a member of the Bank of Ghana board member.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu on Wednesday, February 26 made this known in a statement issue.
The statement further announced Mahama’s 12-member governing board for the Bank of Ghana.
Their appointment follows consultations with the Council of State and in accordance with the Constitution and the Bank of Ghana Act.
This new board is anticipated to bring a wealth of diverse expertise and experience to the Bank of Ghana, enhancing effective governance and oversight of the nation’s central banking operations.
However, the Bolgatanga Central Youth Wing has rejected President John Dramani Mahama’s appointment of Isaac Adongo, the Bolgatanga Central Lawmaker as a member of the Bank of Ghana board member.
According to the Bolgatanga Central Youth Wing, they are questioning why Isaac Adongo was not given a ministerial appointment.
