His comments follow concerns expressed by members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the OSP declaring  Mr Ofori-Atta a fugitive.

The OSP Kissi Agyebeng declared Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive for failing to appear for interrogation into corruption-related investigations.

Ken Ofori Atta has been accused of causing financial loss to the state in several dealings including the construction of the famous National Cathedral and Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA’s) – Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML), the loss reduction contract between ECG and Beijing Jao and Health Ministry to Service Ghana Auto Limited/Ambulances.

Speaking on TV3’s Key Points, Edudzi Tamakloe stated, “We are talking about somebody being sick, my own client under Akufo-Addo who had dialysis for 19 years was put in prison under Akufo-Addo watch what are we talking about.

“What has happened to Ken, has anybody touched him, has anybody done anything to him, no, I heard Afenyo Markin what is he talking about, what is Afenyo Markin saying down spirited how? You are in America an event happened in Accra and you are down what, so he is strong enough to communicate with Afenyo Markin, seriously”, he added.

Edudzi Tameklo added, “What exactly is the problem? Is it that Ofori-Atta is above being declared wanted or being investigated? Nana Addo caused the Office of the Special Prosecutor to investigate John Mahama, a former President. If this could be done, why not Ofori-Atta?”

“The Special Prosecutor went to John Mahama and took statements from him. We have had a Finance Minister (Kwame Peprah) and Deputy (Sipa Yankey) go to jail in this country”, he added.
