MP details how a former NPP appointee tried to get his backing to keep an illegally acquired gov’t land

The Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu, Hon. Issah Atta has recounted how an alleged member of the former administration tried to get his backing to keep an illegally acquired government land.

According to Issah Atta, the individual purportedly acquired the land on the 13th of December 2024 and has since begun construction before he was stopped by the ORAL committee.

Speaking in an interview on Class FM, Hon. Issah Atta recounted, “I visited Tamale over the weekend someone came to me, he was building in my constituency, he was building quickly even in the night and when Domelevo and his squad went over there they stopped him because it is government land and he only acquired the land on 13th December.

The member of parliament further added, “He came to me as an MP to use my influence to help and I said I don’t want to face the repercussions of this ORAL committee they are not a respecter of person, the way it is you have admitted to me that the land was illegally acquired.

Meanwhile, the chairman of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) and Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has revealed that with just 36 cases, Ghana can potentially recover $ 20.49 billion in stolen state resources.
