A video has surfaced on social media of a woman revealing the biological father of Minority Leader Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin.
Madam Amable revealed is a retired agricultural technician whom many claim did not take care of his son, Hon. Afenyo-Markin.
Madam Amable, who introduced him, clarified that the father of Hon. Afenyo-Markin was not irresponsible, as some rumors have suggested.
She added that the Minority Leader lived with his paternal grandmother during his childhood until his mother came for him and sent him to the Central Region.
Speaking in the video Madam Amable narrated, “This is the biological father of Afenyo-Markin, he lived here as a child and attended, Roman Catholic School here in Tsiame, he had an older sister called Mawuse, they were two.
Markin we were just told, Markin is the maternal grandfather’s name, his mother’s grandfather is Markin from Winneba, and Afenyo is the name the father gave him”, she added.
She further added, “Afenyo Markin’s father is an agricultural technician, he attended Tamale Polytechnic and proceeded to Rome to study Agriculture extension, proceeded to read general administration at GIMPA and worked for the government when he was prosecuted politically and fired from his job and retired at the age 40”.
Madam Amable further reiterated that Afenyo Markin’s biological father was not irresponsible.
Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin was born on 27 May 1978 and is a Member of Parliament for the Effutu constituency, Central Region, Ghana.
He attended the St. Augustines College in Cape Coast for his senior high school education. He studied law at the University of Buckingham from 2003 to 2006.
He was also at the Ghana School of Law where he received a Barrister at Law certification 2007–2009 and received an M.A in international politics and security studies at the University of Bradford.
Meanwhile, speaking on JoyNews’ The Probe on Sunday, February 2, Afenyo Markin narrated how he made his money, “In 1997, after school, we had to stay home for two years. So I moved to Accra and found a place at Ghana Post, where I worked my way up,” he narrated.
He secured a scholarship to study at Cape Vas (Cape Cape University) but chose to abandon his education in 1999 after being introduced to entrepreneurship.“I left in level 300 to chase business opportunities,”
“I bought my first Mercedes and BMW early in my business journey, and I still have those cars parked. I started Excel Courier, which became a multi-million-dollar investment. Standard Chartered Bank gave me a $5 million facility, and Barclays Bank granted me $10 million”.
