Prominent members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been denied entry to the Prempeh Assembly hall, venue for the re-run of the Ashanti Regional Council of State elections.

MP for Kwadaso, Kingsley Nyarko, and the former MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong who were among those denied access to the main auditorium, where the voting was taking place.
When these big wigs got to the premises, the attempted entry but were refused by police officer who insisted they would not allow persons without accreditation into the voting center.
The 4 NPP party faithful left the scene quietly without putting up any resistance.
Security at the Prempeh Assembly hall has ben tight as they seek to prevent violent clashes which marred the main elections last week.
The police have stationed a water cannon and mounted barriers all around the voting center in a bid to ensure peace.
Reports suggest that heavily built men disrupted the voting process in the Ashanti Region last week destroying Electoral Commission (EC) materials and physically attacking some journalists.
In the video-making runs on social media, some men were seen forcing their way through a police barricade at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council premises.
The election was halted as the security services in the region worked to restore calm.
