Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin claims the former Minister for Finance, Kenneth Ofori-Atta has been traumatized by the recent actions of the Special Prosecutor.
The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng declared Ken Ofori-Atta wanted yesterday, February 12, 2025.
The OSP is currently investigating four major cases involving Ofori-Atta’s tenure as finance minister:
1. National Cathedral Procurement Scandal – Scrutiny over financial mismanagement and procurement breaches related to the controversial National Cathedral project.
2. Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML) Contract – Investigation into a multi-billion-cedi contract between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and SML, signed under Ofori-Atta’s leadership.
3. ECG-Beijing Jao Contract – Probe into the termination of a contract between the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and Beijing Jao for loss reduction and network improvements.
4. Health Ministry’s Ambulance Procurement Deal – Examination of payments related to a contract awarded to Service Ghana Auto Limited for the procurement and maintenance of 307 ambulances for the National Ambulance Service.
Ken Ofori-Atta is reportedly out of the country seeking medical attention. The OSP has ordered him to immediately return to Ghana for questioning.
Reacting to this, the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin said, “Ken Ofori-Atta is traumatized by OSP’s labelling.”
