Nana Yaa Jantuah a Presidential staffer has said the former finance minister Ken Ofori Atta has tainted the holy words of the Bible and made nonsense of Christianity and Christ.
Her comments come after the OSP Kissi Agyebeng declared Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive for failing to appear for interrogation into corruption-related investigations.
Ken Ofori Atta has been accused of causing financial loss to the state in several dealings including the construction of the famous National Cathedral and Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA’s) – Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML), the loss reduction contract between ECG and Beijing Jao and Health Ministry to Service Ghana Auto Limited/Ambulances.
According to Nana Yaa Jantuah, Ken Ofori-Atta came across as a pious person in his white garment.
Nana Yaa Jantuah asserted that Ken OforI-Atta saw the opportunity to make money when former President Akufo-Addo said he was going to build a cathedral for God.
Speaking on TV3 Big Issues, Nana Yaa Jantuah stated, “Ken Ofori-Atta has tainted the holy words, of the Bible, and made nonsense of Christianity and Christ, he always came across as a pious person, in his white gown, and white garment, I am just lost for words.
I am also not surprised these are not new things, but I am surprised at that time the OSP did not do anything about it, better late than never but his duty was to be an independent Institution, and I expected him at the time to come up and deal with it”, she added.
The Presidential staffer added, “Today, everybody has found their voice, because we have His Excellency John Dramani Mahama not just a new government, but somebody who believes in democracy and somebody who wants things to be done properly, today you hear everyone speaking.
Everybody knew these things were embroiled in corruption, we saw the National Cathedral even a little child will know that as a corrupt practice, 58 million dollars had been spent, even breaking down the houses and how much went into it, Adjaye fees which always didn’t make sense”, she noted.
Nana Yaa Jantuah further accused Ken Ofori-Atta of running Ghana down for his own perosal gain.
“Ken Ofor-Atta saw a way to make money when His Excellency Nana Addo said he was building a cathedral, he smelled it, he smelled money, and he went after it, he ran this country down for his own personal gain Because he knew that anytime he went to the market to borrow he is the one who ensures all the paperwork was done and he took his percentage”, she added.
Meanwhile, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has released a wanted poster for former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
