Kissi Agyebeng stated categorically that with Ken Ofori-Atta now considered a fugitive, the office of the OSP “will take all necessary legal steps to secure his return to the jurisdiction and attendance to the OSP.”

“And this is to Mr. Ofori-Atta. You have 2 choices, you can either return to the jurisdiction voluntary or the OSP will force your return,” he added.

The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng declared Ken Ofori-Atta wanted yesterday, February 12, 2025.

The OSP is currently investigating four major cases involving Ofori-Atta’s tenure as finance minister:

  1. National Cathedral Procurement Scandal – Scrutiny over financial mismanagement and procurement breaches related to the controversial National Cathedral project.
  2. Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML) Contract – Investigation into a multi-billion-cedi contract between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and SML, signed under Ofori-Atta’s leadership.
  3. ECG-Beijing Jao Contract – Probe into the termination of a contract between the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and Beijing Jao for loss reduction and network improvements.
  4. Health Ministry’s Ambulance Procurement Deal – Examination of payments related to a contract awarded to Service Ghana Auto Limited for the procurement and maintenance of 307 ambulances for the National Ambulance Service.

Ken Ofori-Atta is reportedly out of the country seeking medical attention. The OSP has ordered him to immediately return to Ghana for questioning.
