Ghanaian blogger, Bongo Ideas has described the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as bigger than the Peace FM radio station.

According to him, the party should ignore the pleas of host of the station’s Kokrokoo Morning Show, Kwami Sefa Kayi and continue to boycott it.

Reacting a video in which Kwami Sefa Kayi was appealing to the NDC to let  bygones be bygones after they had boycotted the show for close to five (5) years, Bongo Ideas wrote, “Peace FM used to be the biggest station until NDC boycotted them 5 years ago.”

With the NDC’s boycott of the kokrokoo show, Bongo Ideas insisted that the move had made Peace FM trail behind its competitiors, with online shows even surpassing it in terms of relevance and listenership/viewership.

“Onua TV & Media General have taken over. Kevin Taylor’s show is bigger than UTV,” he stated, urging the Kokrokoo team to keep empaneling guests and have discussions which led to the NDC’s boycott.

“Kwami Sefa Kayi can empanel Abronye dems; nothing spoil!” he added.

A statement signed by Sammy Gyamfi, said the decision was taken following the radio station’s ‘unfair paneling system that the production team of that programme has continuously foisted on the NDC over a number of months.

“The National Communication Bureau of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wishes to inform all its communicators, media monitors, and officials that the party has boycotted Peace (104.3) FM’s morning show (Kokrokoo) effective today, Wednesday, 6th May 2020”, Sammy Gyamfi, said in the statement.

The NDC further stated that all efforts to get the producers and host of the programme to replace the former NDC Central regional chairman of the party Allotey Jacobs with a fair-minded NDC member had proved futile, indicating that “the party continues to be treated with utmost contempt.

Its now been close to five (5) years since the NDC boycotted the show, and Kwami Sefa Kayi has opened up about the incident, calling for peace to reign supreme and the two parties return to working together.
