Isaac Adongo, the Bolgatanga Central Lawmaker has finally been appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as a member of the Bank of Ghana board member.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu on Wednesday, February 26 made this known in a statement issue.

The statement further announced Mahama’s 12-member governing board for the Bank of Ghana.

Their appointment follows consultations with the Council of State and in accordance with the Constitution and the Bank of Ghana Act.

This new board is anticipated to bring a wealth of diverse expertise and experience to the Bank of Ghana, enhancing effective governance and oversight of the nation’s central banking operations.

The newly appointed board members are:

  1. Dr Johnson Pandit Kwesi Asiama – Governor (Chairman)
  2. Dr Zakari Mumuni – 1st Deputy Governor
  3. Thomas Nyarko Ampem – Representative from the Ministry of Finance
  4. Augustine Fritz Gockel – Economist
  5. Nana Akua Ayivora – Accountant/Audit/Risk/Compliance
  6. Emma Akua Bulley – Lawyer
  7. Evelyn Naa Checher Kwatia – Finance Markets/Treasury
  8. Dr Stephen Senyo Sapati – Finance/Audit
  9. Beatrice Feehi Annangfio – Lawyer
  10. Kizzita Mensah – Lawyer
  11. Joseph W. Asamoah – Fintech
  12. Isaac Adongo – Economist

Meanwhile, Isaac Adongo, broke his silence after he was snubbed by John Mahama in his of deputy ministers.

According to Isaac Adongo, he knows everyone in his constituency is disappointed but they must remain calm and trust in the president.

He asserted that the NDC has a country to run for fours and John Mahama needs everyone’s support to succeed.

In a statement addressing the tension among some youth in the constituency, Isaac Adongo stated, “I know everyone is disappointed, but I urge you all to remain calm and trust in H.E’s judgment. We have a country to run for four years, and he needs our support to succeed,”

“My only job you gave me is as an MP and not a minister, and I will do my best to give off my best. It’s well. Our time will come”, he added.

Isaac Adongo added that he has absolute confidence those nominated by John Mahama will help him achieve his vision.

“I have absolute confidence in the ability of my colleagues to assist H.E. to achieve his vision. Don’t disturb the peace of my beloved Bolga Central in my name. I didn’t work to get JM to return to power just for you to embarrass him”, Isaac Adongo boldly added.
