Broadcast Journalist and the host of Johnnie’s Bite on 3FM, Johnnie Beresford Hughes has quizzed Ghanaians whether no hospital in Ghana can cure the former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta’s medical condition.
Johnnie Beresford Hughes noted that in the last eight years, Ghanaians were told, that the country has developed and has become an international status so is there no Hospital here in Ghana that can cure Ken Ofori Atta.
He asserted that Ghanaians were lied to by the Akufo-Addo government that they were in this together but Ken Ofori Atta and Asante Bediatuo are seeking medical treatment outside while Ghanaians are queuing in Korle Bu.
His comments come after the OSP in the press conference declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive.
Ken Ofori Atta has been accused of causing financial loss to the state in several dealings including the construction of the famous National Cathedral and Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA’s) – Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML).
Speaking on his program Johnnie’s Bite on 3FM, he said, “In the last eight years, we were told how well Ghana has developed, in the last eight years we were told how we have become of international status, we were told us things have become better under the erstwhile government, there is no hospital here that can treat whatever Mr Ken Ofori-Atta is suffering from.
There is no hospital that can treat whatever Asante Bediatuo is suffering from, so you see how we were fooled into believing that we were in a better place and that we were in this together, are you in this together, you will go and queue at Korle Bu, Accra Regional Hospital, Effia Nkwanta you will go and queue there they will travel out and go”.
Johnnie Beresford Hughes further reiterated, “The person is receiving medical treatment he left here and travelled abroad according to his lawyers, the hospitals in this country our Tertiary Hospital Korle Bu they couldn’t treat what he has, Bank Hospital, University of Ghana Medical Hospital they could not treat so he had to go out”.
