The information gathered suggests the men stormed Ken Ofori Atta’s home in Cantonments while he was reportedly out of the country.

The reports suggest that 12 individuals, five in military uniforms, and one in a police uniform with the rest in ordinary clothes.

The motive behind the men storming Ken Ofori’s house remains vague, but sources confirm the individuals entered the premises.

Reacting to the news, Dr Palgrave Boakye Danquah wrote, “ Is our democracy under siege? I write from the position of a Ghanaian, who truly believes in the tenets of democracy, rule of law and respect for people’s privacy.

I have just read and seen on social media that Armed Soldiers and Police have raided the private home of the Former Finance Minister under the Presidency of @NAkufoAddo and @MBawumia”.

He further added, “As a former appointee of the Government of President Akufo-Addo, I know that we come to serve and only to serve in the interest of the Ghanaian people.

Must we be scared and worried that after serving diligently the people of Ghana, one is not safe even in their home and country of birth?”.

Palgrave Boakye Danquah further quizzed who sanctioned the raid and added that he hoped and prayed that the media, civil society organizations, the diplomatic community and ECOWAS are watching Ghana.

Meanwhile, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive.

Ken Ofori Atta has been accused of causing financial loss to the state in several dealings including the construction of the famous National Cathedral and Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA’s) – Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML).
