Ghanaian Media personality Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah has quizzed if Ghana’s gold Board is not Agyapadia repackaged.
Ghana’s Gold Board is a flagship initiative, envisioned by President John Dramani Mahama, that aims to achieve currency stability through the structured purchasing and management of Ghana’s gold resources.
The Ghana Gold Board will streamline the sector by acting as the sole buyer of gold from legal small-scale mining operations through licensed aggregators and local traders.
Okatakyie Afrifa alleged that Ghana’s gold Board is a plot to hand over Ghana’s gold to one man like the Agyapadia.
According to Okatakyie Afrifa, Sammy Gyamfi who led the NDC communication team for 8 years has been appointed to the PMMC to set up a gold board which is according to him suspicious.
He noted that Sammy Gyamfi was also the spokesperson of Ibrahim Mahama’s Exton Cubic when they tried to go for Ghana’s Bauxite.
Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah quizzed whether Ghana’s gold Board are the only entity going to sell Ghana’s gold like how COCOBOD does with Ghana’s cocoa.
Speaking on his For the Records show, Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah stated, “The extractive sector is like Ibrahim Mahama’s boys are being placed there, in the extractive sector something is happening there we must ask questions. Are you not surprised that Sammy Gyamfi who is the communication officer who led the NDC for 8 years with communication, when the NDC came to power Sammy Gyamfi was not appointed anywhere close to communication, he was not given a ministerial appointment and he was appointed to PMMC?”.
“Sammy Gyamfi is Ibrahim Mahama’s boy when Exton Cubic was going for our bauxite Sammy Gyamfi was their spokesperson for Exton Cubic, how is Sammy Gyamfi one of the first persons who was given appointed as the CEO of PMMC? The letter that was written when they appointed Sammy Gyamfi something was written in that letter. Sammy Gyamfi and the PMMC the act he is setting up what at all are they doing, they are doing three things”, he added.
Okatakyie Afrifa further alleged, “They are coming to do something like the Agyapadia that we fought against they have folded it, and I will open your eyes, the Agyapadia rebranding has come in gold board what are they coming to do? The act that set up the PMMC if Sammy Gyamfi is going there his only job is to check the purity of gold, and also assist exporters who wish PMMC to help them, and also to track.
So, which power is Sammy Gyamfi using to set up the Ghana gold board, why have they put Ibrahim Mahama boy at the PMMC why is Ibrahim Mahama’s friend, Martin Ayisi not left as he was appointed by President Akufo-Addo, is he the one who brought the gold board idea and gave it Ibrahim Mahama”, he added.
Okatakyie Afrifa reiterated, “Why has Ibrahim Mahama’s lawyer been taken to Aluminium Development, Sammy Gyamfi is at PMMC to set up a gold board what is gold board work, it is how the Agyapadia was packaged, the gold board is going to be made like COCOBOD is he the one going to sell all the gold in Ghana? The way COCOBOD sells Ghana’s cocoa and after will they use it for syndicated loans”.
The media personality further quizzed what Sammy Gyamfi would be doing after setting up Ghana’s gold board.
“Ibrahim Mahama’s lawyer has been appointed to Aluminium, and Sammy Gyamfi has been taken to PMMC to set up a gold board, after setting up the gold board what is he going to do? The laws that are creating the gold board we are going to check the laws cover to cover, someone wants to give our gold to someone, the people do not understand what is going on around them and it has become a problem”, Okatakyie detailed.
Meanwhile, the 38-page Agyapadia document, which had no recognized author, featured the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, on the cover photo, and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his father Akufo-Addo on the following page.
The book is essentially a supposed map for total state capture by some powerful persons of Akyem descent, with the sole aim of establishing the Akyem kingdom as the most powerful in the country.
