Social media user, Oh Menua has highlighted the possibility of blogger, Bongo Ideas getting into serious trouble should everyone he has ever written about decide to suit him for defamation.
According to him, it is clear Bongo Ideas cannot substantiate claims he has made about countless people on his social media platforms.
His comments come at the back of Bongo Ideas being ordered by an Accra High Court Jurisdiction to pay Kojo Forex GH₵170,000 in a defamation case.
Kojo Forex on 17 May 2023 filed a defamation suit against Bongo Ideas demanding one million Ghana cedis (GH₵1,000,000).
Kojo Forex accused Bongo Ideas of publishing defamatory statements about him on Twitter which seeks to harm his reputation.
Justice Forson Agyapong Baah of the Accra High Court Jurisdiction 2 after reviewing the evidence presented delivered a ruling on January 28, 2025.
Bongo Ideas has been ordered to pay Kojo Forex general damages of GH₵100,000, along with an extra GH₵50,000 for aggravated, exemplary, and compensatory damages.
Additionally, the offender was instructed to pay GH₵20,000 in legal costs.
The Accra High Court has also ordered Bongo Ideas to publicly apologize for the defamatory statements made.
The controversial social media personality has also been directed to retract his statement on his Twitter page within 21 days of the judgment.
The court has also restricted Bongo Ideas from making or issuing any further defamatory statements regarding Kojo Forex.
Following this announcement, many of Kojo Forex’s followers are eagerly awaiting their share of the Ghc170,000.
Reacting to the verdict, Oh Menua wrote on his X page, “Kojo Forex sued Bongo Ideas for GHC1 million in a defamation case, but the court ultimately awarded GHC170k against Bongo Ideas. This means Bongo Ideas couldn’t substantiate his claims in a series of tweets accusing @KojoForexof being an “FX fraudster.” Imagine if everyone @Bongo has trashed over the years decides to take legal action.
