I go use the money do giveaway – Kojo Forex on Ghc170k defamation verdict against Bongo Ideas

Popular Ghanaian forex trader, Kojo Forex says he will use the Ghc170,000 won from his defamation suit against blogger Bongo Ideas to celebrate his fans.

According to him, he is waiting for Bongo Ideas to pay the money owed him for the giveaway for his fans to happen.

He wrote on his X page, “If the money drop, I go take all do giveaway.”

Bongo Ideas has been ordered by an Accra High Court Jurisdiction to pay Kojo Forex GH₵170,000 in a defamation case.

Kojo Forex on 17 May 2023 filed a defamation suit against Bongo Ideas demanding one million Ghana cedis (GH₵1,000,000).

Kojo Forex accused Bongo Ideas of publishing defamatory statements about him on Twitter which seeks to harm his reputation.

Justice Forson Agyapong Baah of the Accra High Court Jurisdiction 2 after reviewing the evidence presented delivered a ruling on January 28, 2025.

Bongo Ideas has been ordered to pay Kojo Forex general damages of GH₵100,000, along with an extra GH₵50,000 for aggravated, exemplary, and compensatory damages.

Additionally, the offender was instructed to pay GH₵20,000 in legal costs.

The Accra High Court has also ordered Bongo Ideas to publicly apologize for the defamatory statements made.

The controversial social media personality has also been directed to retract his statement on his Twitter page within 21 days of the judgment.

The court has also restricted Bongo Ideas from making or issuing any further defamatory statements regarding Kojo Forex.

Following this announcement, many of Kojo Forex’s followers are eagerly awaiting their share of the Ghc170,000.
