Abena Moet a Ghanaian Media personality has boldly stated she cannot go out and work for twelve hours, return home and be expected to cook for her husband.
According to Abena Moet, there is a difference between both couples going to work and returning home tired that they could buy something.
She noted that in marriage everyone is giving something whether financial or physical.
Speaking on GH ONE Toast show, Abena Moet stated, “There is this spirit that comes with money, I can’t go out there work twelve hours, fifteen hours, sit on a table of men argue my point or whatever makes a business deal make money and I come home and you are sitting on the couch watching TV just because you are the man.
You have waited for me the whole day, so I should go and cook for you, nobody will, in every relationship, somebody is giving, we are all giving something, you are either giving financial help or giving physical help there is something everybody is giving”, she added.
She further added, “Making money is not sudden, you know how it is to make money, you are having meetings. Imagine you wake up at 4 am go for a meeting from 5 am to 12, have lunch step into another meeting for another couple of hours. You are managing something and having to deal with employees like 200 or even 20 or 5.
There is a difference between we all going to work we are all tired we would probably buy something, and there is this manly thing that you are my wife so you have to do it for me”, Abena Moet emphasised.
Abena Moet further detailed that Jesus Christ who was the head of the disciples washed their feet, so to be a leader one must also learn to serve.
“If I go to work and come back and you are sitting in the chair doing nothing, Jesus Christ was the head and he washed his disciple’s feet to be able to lead you must learn to serve”, she reiterated.
Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have shared their thought about Abena Moet’s comments saying, “Marriage is proving to be a very useless path to take in this generation. But then again, settle for what you think you deserve”.
This is understandable. A 2-income household needs balance and shared responsibilities. HOWEVER, those ladies pride themselves as “housewives” claiming salary for being a wife. It is them we target this thing to”, another user stated.
Additionally, another user stated that modern women just crave weddings for hype and social media, the user wrote“The modern woman craves for a wedding for hype and social media likes to monetize her page, then divorce in quick time for the same reasons and spend another long period ranting on social media blogs offering stupid advice. All for likes and money 💰. She cares not about family values nor respect for the man or men who paid her dowry”.
