Professor Ransford Gyampo, a Professor of Political Science and now the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO)of Ghana Shippers Authority has said he is not NPP or NDC.
According to Professor Gyampo, he is only working with the government of the day to serve Ghanaians.
Speaking on TV3’s Hot Issues, Professor Gyampo detailed, “I am not NPP, I am not NDC, I work with the government of the day to serve Ghana and if per my work output, there is something good that comes out of it, and the party in power will want to cash it as one of their achievements so be it.
At the end of the day, my vision my commitment and my resolve is to serve Ghana by brightening the corner that I have been placed in and not to serve political parties”, he added.
Prof Gyampo further stated he would maintain his role as a public critic if the government doesn’t listen in private.
“Don’t say because you didn’t get anything, I was not part of J. A Kuffour’s government I criticised them, I was not part of Atta Mills government I criticised him, I was not part of President Mahama’s government I criticised him, I was not part of Akufo-Addo’s government I criticised him. I am part of this particular government by being as to serve as the acting CEO of Ghana’s Shippers Authority and I am telling you I will offer the same criticism”, he added.
Prof Gyamo boldly stated one is a nation wrecker if one refuses to serve the nation, according to him, it is unpatriotic to refuse the opportunity to serve the nation.
He further revealed it was a pleasant surprise and had to spend almost the whole night not sleeping, thinking because he had been at the University of Ghana for almost 20 years.
