Sam Nartey George, the Minister-Designate for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation has apologised to Catholics over a comment he made during his vetting.
During Sam George’s vetting on 30 January 2025, he maintained the claims he made about Dr Mahamudu Bawumia when he referred to him as a “religious prostitute.”
According to Sam George, he was in the spirit when he made that proclamation, he also stated that he was charismatic and Afenyo Markin was Catholic so you don’t understand spiritual things.
A netizen who retweeted a post by Sam George after his vetting calling him out over the comments he made wrote, “You performed so well Hon. But, you made a remark yesterday which didn’t sound good to me”.
“I am a charismatic, you are a Catholic so you don’t understand spiritual things because you Catholics are not spiritual” That wasn’t fair and I do plead that you do better next time. Peace”, he added.
According to Sam George, he admits that what he intended to communicate didn’t come across the way it should have.
He further revealed that he retracted and apologised to the Committee.
Sam George further admitted it was impossible as a human to have gotten all his responses flawless and apologies sincerest apologies.
He wrote on X, “ I admit that what I intended to communicate didn’t come across the way it should have. I retracted and apologised to the Committee. I believe it was impossible as human as I am to have gotten all my responses flawless. Accept on a personal level, my sincerest apologies.🦁”
