The Government will today February 10,2025 begin a high-level discussions with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by Mission Chief for Ghana, Stephane Roudet.
The meetings, which is set to start today, Monday, February 10, 2025, will continue until Friday, February 14, 2025.
According to a statement from the Finance Ministry, the primary focus of these discussions is to review Ghana’s progress under the IMF-supported programme and to outline the government’s policy direction for the 2025 Budget.
The statement indicated that, Key topics for the discussions include revenue administration reforms, energy sector restructuring, expenditure rationalization, and monetary and exchange rate policy.
“Key institutions such as the Bank of Ghana, the Ghana Revenue Authority, and the Controller and Accountant General’s Department are participating in the meetings to provide their expertise and input on various economic policies and reforms”.
The Government has reiterated its commitment to prioritizing macroeconomic stability, job creation, and the improved livelihood of its citizens.
