Goaso Traditional Council ban Valentine’s Day celebrations

The Goaso Traditional Council has banned Valentine’s Day celebrations in the Goaso traditional area.

The traditional Council have banned the celebration ahead of the one-week observation of the late Paramount Chief of the Goaso Traditional Council, Nana Kwasi Bosomprah.

According to the Goaso Traditional Council, they are in a state of mourning so if anyone wants to celebrate Valentine it should be done in the person’s room.

Speaking during a press conference, the spokesperson of the Goaso Traditional Council stated, “The Chiefs have placed a ban on Valentine’, if you want to celebrate Valentine, celebrate it in your room peacefully, but don’t go to various hotels or go to town to disturb.

If someone has planned a Valentine’s party what the chiefs are saying is if you are caught disturbing outside we will deal with you. We are mourning, and if we are mourning, we are all mourning together”, he added.

The Goaso Traditional Council further added, “Some cannot be mourning and some people will be having a Valentine’s party, the chiefs are saying all Valentine’s parties are banned, so if you want to have your Valentine’s party do it in your room”.
