We urge the management of Angel FM to be positively innovative and find an angelic name for the midday news. The management of Angel FM must appreciate the mission of Angel they bring good news, not orgasm news”, he added.

Some Ghanaians have expressed their opinions about Angel FM calling their midday news ‘Orgasm News’.

An X user stated, “Even the style of news reporting on our local stations must follow a standard. They report the news in some comic way, introducing jargons that distort the facts leading to misinformation”.

“Couldn’t he have done it privately? Why do we always want to show we are in charge in Ghana?”, another stated.

Meanwhile, the GJA president at the same press conference criticized the Mahama administration for the increasing attacks on journalists.

According to him, there have been seven (7) recorded incidents of journalists suffering attacks ever since President John Dramani Mahama was sworn into office.

He described the situation as “unprecedented”, and called on the government to take swift action.

Expressing concern over the lack of accountability, he condemned the government’s failure to take firm action against the perpetrators.

He stated, “It is very sad to note that in the month of love when people are demonstrating love to their loved ones with red gifts, our colleagues who were in the line of duty were made to see red blood as their reward for serving mother Ghana. It is also disheartening to note that just after 50 days into the 2nd John Mahama administration we have witnessed 7 cases of assault against journalists. This is unprecedented

“In making this appeal, we remind the President of the commitments he made to the media and the nation on July 7, 2024, at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel during a media engagement”, the GJA president added.
