There have been reports that Gifty Oware-Mensah has reportedly fled the country after NPP lost power in the 2024 elections.
According to the reports, the Ghana Football Association(GFA) is set to run a by-election and elect a new EXCO member to fill the position of female football rep on the executive council of the GFA.
Gifty Oware-Mensah who is a member of the GFA executive council member has reportedly left Ghana since the NPP lost power and has been absent in recent GFA EXCO meetings.
There were earlier reports alleging that Gifty Oware-Mensah might be plotting an escape from Ghana to avoid accountability.
Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama has ordered the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) to investigate the NSS ‘ghost names’ scandal.
This comes following allegations of 81,885 suspected ghost names on the payroll under the previous government.
Mahama directives come as a headcount of National Service personnel show, that 98,145 actual National Service personnel were entitled to the allowances, significantly lower than the 180,030 names.
