According to Kevin Taylor, Gideon Boako is sacred because his campaign to become a member of parliament was funded with money from the Bank of Ghana.

Reacting to Gideon Boako’s comments on the new BoG governor Kevin Taylor wrote on X,   “He got his campaign money from Bank of Ghana that’s why he is scared 😂”.

Dr Johnson Asiamah was appointed the BoG governor by President John Mahama following  Dr Ernest Addison’s proceeding on leave pending his retirement on 31st March 2025.

Meanwhile, The minority leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has written to President John Dramani Mahama about the unconstitutionality of the nomination of a new Bank of Ghana Governor.

The Minority in Parliament has raised concerns over the assumption of official duties by Dr Johnson Asiamah.

Parts of the minority letter reads, “Your Excellency, it is my considered view that Dr. Johnson Asiamah should refrain from engaging in official duties at the Bank of Ghana until his nomination has been duly approved by the Council of State. While awaiting confirmation, he can seek any necessary briefings outside the formal assumption of office.

“I trust that due attention will be given to this matter to uphold the integrity of our institutional processes”, the letter stated.
