According to the ECG customer, Ghanaians should not be trying to figure out how they are going to eat and put money in their light.

She has made an urgent plea to the management of the company for a review of the current electricity rates.

Speaking in a self-recorded video she cried out, “ECG come right this way, do you all see this right here, it gotta go, there is no reason why people should be trying to figure out how they are going to eat and to put money on their light.

I swear you can put money on your light right now, and in two hours you going to need more, there is no reason why fifty cedis aren’t lasting in a day when you using three fans, a refrigerator and two TVs. It just… make this make sense for me”, she added.

Meanwhile, some X users have commented on the post also complaining about the increasing cost of utilities, saying, “This customer’s plea is completely justified. Even with minimal usage, steep rate hikes are a heavy burden on households. While global fuel prices and exchange rate issues play a role, it’s clear that ECG’s current pricing is unsustainable for many. We need a transparent review of electricity rates to ensure affordability and fair treatment for all Ghanaians”.

“Very advanced  Countries dey use post paid but here in Ghana 🇬🇭 we no reach anywhere want to use Prepaid to rob us the citizens”, another user added.

Additionally one wrote, “ @JDMahama please this is also a challenge to look at. The new meters the brought have been nothing but a menace to us. Please do something”.
