Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah says injustice will be done to Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh if Ghanaians focus on solely critiquing him for his comments in Ablekuma North, and ignore actions of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the constituency.
Referencing an incident on January 17th, where National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters, led by their Greater Accra Regional Organizer, disrupted and vandalized property at the EC regional office.
He argued that this act of violence has been overlooked in the current discussions.
“Why are we not talking about that? That’s the actual violence. That is what is happening. These are the effects of those actions. I don’t think that we should be promoting violence, but we should be solving the problem.
“If tonight we are focused on talking about Hon. Annoh-Dompreh and what he’s said, and forgetting the misbehavior of NDC supporters, that will be doing an injustice to the issue,” Ahiagbah asserted in an interview on Channel One.
According to him, the focus should be on resolving the impasse in the constituency, and finally declaring a Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency as that will bring peace.
“I think we should focus on that. That is where we can solve the problem. Because if we solve the problem, he won’t hold a mic to say what he is saying.
“That is not to discount it but to say that why don’t we solve the problem,” Ahiagbah stated.
