Members of the Minority in Parliament have urged President Mahama to be honest and transportation about tell state of Ghana as he inherited from the erstwhile Akufo-Addo administration.
Addressing journalists in Parliament, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament (MPs) highlighted key issues, including employment, the economy, and the power crisis, calling on the president to tackle them with transparency.
In a press interaction, MP for Manhyia North, Akwasi Konadu, stated that he expects President Mahama to speak honestly about some critical matters arising in the country. “We have huge unemployment rate in this country I’m sure he’s going to address that not because he inherited it but because he’s creating that through his Chief of Staff,” he said.
The MP also urged the president to give a transparent and detailed account of the country’s condition as he begins his second term.
President John Mahama will deliver his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) today, Thursday, February 27, since assuming office for a second term.
The highly anticipated speech is expected to set the tone for his administration’s ambitious “Resetting Ghana” agenda, aimed at reviving the economy, creating jobs, and restoring stability. With Ghana grappling with economic distress, rising inflation, and high unemployment.
Mahama’s address is seen as a defining moment to reassure citizens and outline clear solutions.
His 24-hour economy policy, a cornerstone of his economic strategy, is expected to take centre stage as a game-changing initiative to drive industrial growth, boost productivity, and create sustainable employment opportunities.
