NDC Constituents of Ashaiman have embarked on a campaign against President John Mahama for apparently snubbing their Member of Parliament, Ernest Henry Norgbey in Ministerial appointments.
They noted that the party secured one of its biggest wins in the Ashaiman Constituency and as such deserves commendation.
According to the NDC supporters, are the NDC leadership telling the people of Ashaniman that they are only good for demonstrations and rallies.
The NDC supporters in Ashaiman claimed President John Mahama promised to offer them appointments.
Speaking at the demonstration one of the demonstrators stated, “We are pleading with the president and the leadership at the top, we were promised, a ministerial appointment, that was what the president promised us, Sammy Gyamfi came here and promised the same, Hon Agbodza came here and promised as same, Ato Forson promised us here, Asiedu Nketia promised us same, so what changed.
Are they telling us, we are only good enough for demonstration, are we only good enough for rallies, don’t we also deserve something better we gave the president 69,000 solid votes, we didn’t sleep”, she added.
The irate NDC supporters asserted that they initially hoped for ministerial or deputy ministerial positions, but most have been filled, they are now seeking Chief Executive Officer (CEO) roles in state institutions.
Meanwhile, speaking in an interview on Adom FM, the constituency’s Organizer, Mark Apetor stated, “We have the men and are ready for the appointments. Off the top of my head, I can mention about 60 people”.
“We have Free Zones, BOST, TOR, GPHA, and other state institutions within the Ashaiman enclave, so any position they assign to us, we are ready to work,” he added.
The constituency’s Organizer, Mark Apetor revealed that disgruntled supporters say they feel marginalized despite their unwavering support for the party since 1992.
