Ardent supporter of President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Appiah Stadium has apologized to the President and his security detail.
This apology comes after Appiah Stadium on February 7, 2025, was blocked by security officials of President John Dramani Mahama from seeing him at Burma Camp.
President Mahama attended the funeral of the late Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Arnold Quainoo when leaving the premises Appiah Stadium attempted to approach him as he boarded his vehicle, but was prevented by doing so by the President’s security detail.
Addressing the incident on live television, Appiah Stadium went on his knees to apologize to the President and his security detail for the attempted breach.
“To those who blocked me, I am sorry. I should give them that respect because they were doing their job. I apologize to COP Kofi Boakye (Rtd) for what I did.”
He addressed critics who claimed he does not deserve to be near President Mahama, saying the President is a good man who will not let comments of such people destroy their relationship.
When asked why he attempted to approach the president in that manner, he stated, “I wanted him to know I am available for any job opening.”
Following the incident, Ghanaian business mogul Ibrahim Mahama rebuked Appiah Stadium over his public approach to President John Dramani Mahama.
