The Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has made known that former President Akufo-Addo ranked first in the NPP 2024 election defeat.
According to Mussah Dankwah, the NPP presidential candidate, Dr Bawumia, only ranked fourth on the cause of the NPP defeat.
He added that Ken Ofori Atta was also third in the leading cause of the NPP defeat in the December polls.
Speaking on Peace FM, Mussah Dankwah detailed, “We have done some work; I think the blame goes to Nana Addo, about 80 percent of voters blame Nana Addo for the NPP lost. 80 percent, and that is very huge and secondly, Bawumia, not for his campaign performance, by his tide to Nana Addo, he could not distance himself from Nana Addo”.
“If you remember those mate arguments, he was trying to in the minds of people to move away from Nana Addo that would have helped if people believed in him, but because they didn’t believe that, they didn’t buy into that”, he added.
Mussah Dankwah further added, “In terms of personally blaming him, he runs like fourth in the level of tier of blaming as a person. Ofori Atta comes third, before Bawumia. Nana Addo is the key issue, after him was Bawumia’s closeness to Nana Addo, and then we have Ken Ofori Atta and the Bawumia as a person.
So, we put the issue down so we can know exactly where to lay the blame, but mostly the blame went to Nana Addo, it was his legacy and his record that Bawumia had to run on, and the experience people had at the time was not good”, he noted.
Mussah Dankwah added that former president Akufo-Addo directing chiefs to get up and greet him was also to blame.
“Let’s be frank, some of the things he was doing and saying, politically speaking, if he was running himself, he would not have done that. Let’s speak the truth, look at the chief’s issues come on, which chief will tell his people to vote for them after telling them to stand and greet you at a durbar”, he added.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission’s official website, John Dramani Mahama, leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), won the 2024 elections with 6,591,790 votes, representing 56.42%, while as his closet opponent, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia secured 4,877,611 representing 41.7%.
