The Attorney-General has dropped charges against Pastor Elisha Salifu Amoako of Alive Chapel International, his wife Mouha Amoako and one other.
According to reports, Bishop Salifu Amoako, and his wife were rearrested after they were discharged by the court after the state decided to drop the charges.
The state on Monday, February 17, 2025, decided to drop charges against the renowned clergyman Amoako, his wife and one other.
The move according to info gathered is intended to help the Ghana Police Service conduct more investigations.
Meanwhile, the accident, which occurred on October 12, 2024, involved Pastor Amoako’s son, the 16-year-old was driving a Jaguar SUV with one passenger when he collided with a Honda Acura on Mensah Wood Street at East Legon. Both vehicles caught fire, and two 12-year-old girls in the Acura tragically lost their lives.
Out of five occupants in the Acura, three were rescued. Two sustained minor injuries and were treated and discharged, while one remains in the hospital.
Following the incident, Pastor Elisha Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, were arrested and detained to assist with investigations. Police have confirmed that the couple is cooperating with authorities.
They were later fined GHS6k each for failing to control their son.
They were also ordered to pay for the damage caused in the accident, involving a light pole valued at GHS8k.
Meanwhile, Elrad Salifu has been sentenced to six months after his involvement in the East Legon accident.
According to the Ghana Police Service statement, Elrad was driving a Jaguar SUV crashed into a 4×4 Acura vehicle driven by Joseph Ackah with four occupants.
The prosecutor in the case, Elrad Amoako, was leading a 3-SUV convoy with his friends in East Legon.
Despite the presence of other cars, Salifu Amoako’s son decided to show off the speed of the Jaguar F-Pace Sport while leading a 3-SUV convoy with his friends from A&C mall.
