Afenyo-Markin who has turned into a fashion police in parliament, rather than focus on parliamentary duties chose to chastise Mahama Ayariga for wearing sunglasses in the chamber of parliament.

Addressing the House, he reminded Mahama Ayariga of the fact that during their orientation as Members of Parliament (MPs), they were educated on the do’s and don’ts of parliament.

“You wear sunglasses in this chamber. Stop, you don’t wear sunglasses in the chamber of parliament. That was not part of the orientation, speaker has cautioned you. You’re still shouting,” Afenyo-Markin was heard shouting on the floor of the House.

Ever since the constition of the 9th Parliament, the Minority, especially Alexander Afenyo-Markin has been acting in a way which has surprised Ghanaians.

Some Ghanaians claim the the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is not ready and have no substantive opposition to the governance of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), and only rely on gimmicks to gain relevance.

They cite this as one instance where the minority seeks to gain attention in the media and amongst the Ghanaian populace.

Following the surfacing of this video on social media, netizens have taken swipes at Afenyo-Markin, with many chastising his leadership.

Read some comments below;

@KSnetne: SMH 🤦🏾‍♂️ , priorities! The economy is in shambles, dumsor is creeping back, and salaries are losing value, but Afenyo-Markin is out here policing fashion choices. Maybe he should focus on governance instead of acting like a stylist on the floor of Parliament.

@NanaGrantANC: afenyo markin is nothing mote than a pathetic political opportunist!

@Gyamfim1: Ghana’s government after this election has always been about Afenyo-Markin, when are we seeing seriousness to work from them?

@Whittle5424: When you become irrelevant , you start talking about irrelevant and unnecessary stuffs

@AndrewsAmponsa2: He always sounds like what the Bible described as “ the accuser of our brethren”
