Social media is awash with intense criticism directed towards Member of Parliament (MP) for Ofoase Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.
Their anger at the MP stems from a recent statement he made, promising the next New Patriotic Party (NPP) government will appoint at most fifty (50) ministers to head the various sectors and regions.
Although he celebrated the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for running a lean government of sixty (60) ministers, he argued the next NPP government will do better.
“The new threshold of 60 ministers is worth celebrating, but in the near future, we will be celebrating 50 ministers under an NPP administration,” he stated.
However, X users did not take his comment lightly as they insist his argument is hypocritical.
According to netizens, why didn’t the erstwhile NPP administration under Akufo-Addo which Oppong Nkrumah was a part of not use a lean government, but used an elephant sized government.
