Member of Parliament (MP) for the Effutu Constituency and member of the Appointments Committee, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has threatened to expose some underhand dealings of colleague, MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
According to Afenyo Markin, Okudzeto keeps parading himself as a saint when he is also engaged in corrupt practices.
In an heated argument on the floor of parliament, Afenyo-Markin said, “Who are you? You are not clean. Don’t think of yourself as a saint. We will expose you one day.”
Okudzeto who would not take allegations from Afenyo-Markin lightly rebutted that he is not a saint, but he will never use his office to loot state property.
“Yes, I am not a saint but I will never use my office to loot the state that entrusts its assets under my care. And if I ever do, I will encourage the state institutions to prosecute me without fear of favor,” he stated.
Okudzeto indicated that he will not sit idly and watch as corruption goes on around him.
“Defending corruption and state capture is no different from engaging in corruption, it is called complicit.”
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has made a name for himself as an anti corruption crusader in Ghanaian politics.
The politician has made it his purpose to expose corrupt and underhand dealings in government.
