Blogger and social media critic Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas, has criticized media personality Serwaa Amihere following the release of an intimate video that went viral on social media.
In a scathing post on X, he accused Serwaa of being a “gold digger” and urged her to own up to her actions.
“You were charging
GHC2,500 per day as his girlfriend! Tell the girls that you’re a gold-digger who went looking for gold, not love, & also they should stop following sugar daddies & ministers.
Advice yourself first! Tueh!” he wrote.
The statement by Bongo Ideas comes in the wake of Serwaa’s public apology and advice to young women following the controversy surrounding the leaked video.
The footage, reportedly recorded in 2019, showed Serwaa in bed with Henry Fitz, a man who was later married.
The incident sparked widespread backlash, with allegations of an affair even after Serwaa attended Fitz’s wedding.
In response to the scandal, Serwaa admitted to underestimating the consequences of her actions and the extent of her influence.
She apologized to her family, employers, and brands she represents, acknowledging the emotional and professional toll the ordeal had on her life.
“I went through an extremely difficult year last year. Be extremely careful about the decisions you make today because years later, they will come back and bite you really hard in the face. And that’s exactly what happened to me,” she advised.
Serwaa further revealed that the video was leaked after five months of extortion and threats, despite police efforts to apprehend those responsible.
While some have sympathized with Serwaa for speaking out about her struggles, others, including Bongo Ideas, have taken a more critical stance.
His comments highlight ongoing debates about personal accountability and societal expectations, particularly for public figures.
Despite the backlash, Serwaa used the opportunity to encourage young women to make careful decisions and consider the long-term implications of their actions.
Reflecting on her journey, she expressed gratitude to friends who supported her during the difficult period and urged others to learn from her experience.
