John Jinapor, the Energy minister-designate has fired shots at the the opposition New Patriotic Party for spreading fake news.
According to the NPP Project Bureau, John Jinapor flew on a 14,000 euros-per-hour private jet to Nigeria on January 18, 2025, for a discussion about energy issues.
In a post on Facebook, John Jinapor described the news as fake stating, that he has not spent GHS1 of state funds on any trip since his nomination.
He wrote on Facebook, “It looks like these NPP minions and propagandists have not learnt any lessons from their abysmal and embarrassing 38% defeat”.
“For the records, I have not spent one GHS1 of state funds on any trip since my nomination and subsequent vetting”, he added.
John Jinapor further took a swipe at the NPP indicating with this attitude they would get 28% in the 2028 elections.
“With this attitude, I am pretty sure they are bound for a 28% mark in 2028, if not less”, he added.
Meanwhile, Social media has been on fire with Ghanaians speculating after President Mahama travelled on the private jet owned by his businessman brother, Ibrahim Mahama, to The Gambia.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu the acting spokesperson of President Mahama speaking on TV3 revealed that Mahama using the Dzata jet is an alternative arrangement that has not, in any way, shape, or form, cost the Ghanaian taxpayer a dime.
