A social media user and pro New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporter, Gen. Buhari has indicated that President John Mahama is practicing a “winner takes it all agenda”.
This follows the appointment of 10 Regional Ministers by the president.
In a post on X, Gen. Buhari indicated that the appointments made indicate that President Mahama wants the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to run the government.
“From Mahama’s appointment, you can clearly see he wants the NDC party to directly run the government,” he wrote.
He gave a break down of the 10 Regional Ministerial appointees, listing their various positions in the party at the regional level, a fact President Mahama did not shy from when he made their nominations public.
The pro-NPP X user wrote, “Out of 10 names of the Regional Ministers designated;
2 are regional chairmen
5 are regional secretaries
1 is a regional woman organizer
and another 1 is a deputy regional women organizer. The winner takes it all agenda”.
Yesterday, January 14, 2025, the presidency submitted for Parliamentary approval the nomination list to fill 10 Regional Ministerial positions.
In a communication to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, the presidency requested the vetting and confirmation of the nominated individuals.
This move according to the presidency, represents a step in the President’s commitment to enhancing governance and ensuring efficient administration across the regions.
The remaining six regions awaiting appointments are Bono, Bono East, Central, Western, Western North, and Upper West.
