Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has expressed surprise over the delayed appointment of Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings (MP) to a ministry or state agency.
President John Mahama is still in the process of naming heads of various state institutions and agencies.
However, he has managed to name his sector and regional ministers, but he is yet to name deputies to some of these ministries.
With his desire for a lean government, President Mahama has pledged to appoint 60 ministers for his 23 ministries and 16 regions. This means some of these ministers will not have deputies.
Speaking on the floor of parliament, Afenyo-Markin indicated that some National Democratic Congress MPs are anxious as they are yet to receive any appointments.
“Honourable Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, your founder’s daughter is yet to be mentioned,” he highlighted.
Prior to the naming of Kwabena Mintah Akandoh as Health Minister-Designate, there were speculations that Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings was going to occupy that position.
