Musical duo, DopeNation have given colleague musician Kuami Eugene a taste of his own medicine.
Following the departure of DopeNation from Lynx Entertainment, a record label Kuami Eugene also belonged to at the time, the latter granted an interview and expressed delight over the duo’s departure from the label.
“And I am glad that now what will be shared amongst four boys will be shared amongst two boys. A farewell to them,” he said amidst laughter in reference to DopeNation.
Most Ghanaians argued the future of the duo after departing from Lynx was going to be uncertain as they now carried the “Lynx curse”. A curse which supposedly meant they were not going to make it just like some former Lynx signees.
The duo is however making waves in the Ghanaian music scene and have even introduced a new sound, Ghanapiano which many artistes are jumping unto.
In the later part of 2024, Kuami Eugene also announced his departure from Lynx entertainment.
Following Kuami Eugene’s departure from Lynx, DopeNation also thought it was time to pay him back in his own coin.
They wrote on their X page, “Let’s see how you carry the so called “lynx curse” now. what was meant for four people is now for one person. We wish you well. @KuamiEugene” borrowing the title of his own song to taunt him.
