Ghanaian journalist, Bridget Otto is seeking clarity on why there is immense opposition to a yet to be appointed National Communications Authority (NCA) Director General.
Some die hard National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters claim John Dramani Mahama is going to appoint Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko as the next NCA boss.
Although no such appointment has been made, the party faithful are opposing the possibility of the appointment.
Some of the party members argue Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko was the mastermind behind the closure of Pro-NDC radio stations during the Akufo-Addo administration, and is considered an enemy by NDC grassroots.
They claim appointing him NCA-DG will only do the party more harm, and is a slap in the face for party loyalist who are equally qualified for the job.
Although Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko may have just been doing his duties at the time, he is now considered an enemy of the party.
It is feared if he is truly appointed as NCA-DG, the NDC grassroots will take drastic action and possibly remove him from office with force.
