Newly appointed Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga says the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) overwhelming majority composition in Parliament will be used for the betterment of Ghanaians.

According to him, the advantage which comes with such an overwhelming majority will be utilized in a responsible manner.

Mahama Ayariga indicated that the need for consensus-building and the importance of fostering unity in Parliament is the party’s priority.

“As President John Dramani Mahama has said, these overwhelming numbers will not be abused,” Mr Ayariga declared.

“Even though we are an overwhelming majority, we will strive for inclusivity, consensus-building and deeply uphold the principles of probity and accountability in the fulfilment of the dreams of our founding fathers.”

He admitted that parliament’s composition will come with accompanied challenges but through constructive dialogue and mutual respect, they will be resolved.

“The road ahead will not be without challenges, but I am confident that together, through constructive dialogue and mutual respect, we can overcome any obstacles and deliver on our collective vision,” he added.
